Default winter wheels and tires on 11 xj sc

I have a set of 19" wheels coming that I intend to mount winter tires on for my 11 xj sc.

First question looking for the ford part number for the tpms so I can get the correct ones cheap.

Second, do I need to run staggered front and rear sizes like the oem summer setup or can I run the same size on all four corners.

In the '11 XJ Owner's Handbook, on p. 152, "USING WINTER TIRES: When fitted, winter tires must be fitted to all 4 wheels."

"APPROVED WINTER TIRE SIZES; Front: 245/45R19 102V Pirelli Sottozero Series II; Rear: 275/40R19 105V Pirelli Sottozero Series II."

"WINTER TIRE PRESSURES; Front: 32 psi, Rear 32 psi."

While personally I wouldn't feel obliged to use the brand tires Jaguar approved, I would stay with the tire sizes and pressures they recommend. I assume they didn't specify different sizes front and rear, be they summer or winter type, just for the hell of it.

I just put Bridgestone LM-32 on my XJL 2014. Great performance and much more confortable then the pirelli. I will see in the snow and on ice but they are suppose to be more performant then the pirelli. The rubber is softer.

Just remember, regardless of the tires you select, you have slightly less than 4 inches of road clearance; much more snow than this this will leave your vehicle sitting atop the snow with all four wheels spinning to no avail.

Jonh, I live up north in Canada and on the top of the mountain (I'm a skier). With my XJL AWD equiped with 4 good tires, I can get at home with 2 feet of snow on the road with no problem. Snow is mostly AIR...

Glad to hear that. Where I used to live, New Hampshire, we frequently got heavy snow with high water content. Compress it and it turned to ice. Enjoy!

A number of people have advised me against the Pirello Sottozeros. Apparently they're not very good below -5 deg C. More made for Italian winters I guess!

No personal experience of them, but that's what I'm hearing anyway.

Interesting! Even if I could get through that snow, would I want to? Scraping up the front fascia and such would not be my idea of fun!
