Default Navigation issue

Hi, i have just picked up a 2017 XJ and i have a couple of issues

I have the 8inch screen but in the armrest a SIM slot, two USB's and a HDMI - im assuming this means I have the Incontrol Pro system that supports everything except Android Auto and Carplay correct? This currently seems to be connected to the old owner so i just need to wait for the V5 document to come and I can go to a Jag dealership and get them removed so I can configure incontrol for me.

The issue im having is the Incontrol Sat Nav, I created a new account for Incontrol maps on jaguar.here.com and that went fine, it then said as the car is connected i need to sign in via the satnav in the car. So i went to the car, turned on the wifi hotspot on my phone and gave the car internet access. When i tried to sign it it came up with a message saying "Sorry. Something went wrong on our end. Please try later" Does this need to go through a data SIM in the car or will it being tethered to a mobile be enough?

I assume your issue is related to the discontinuation of 3G service. The XJ did not get 4G until 2018.
You can get the ICTP system updated for free while you are at the dealer if you wish, campaign H419:

They may be able to help you with the connectivity issue as well.
