A quick search shows that Redline MT-LV fluid is compatible with that ridiculously overpriced JLR brew at a fraction of the price, see here: https://www.redlineoil.com/mt-lv-70w75w

I would use the proper oil for the differential in your car.
I have the E-Diff and used Redline 75W90 #57904 which meets the Castrol SAF Carbon Mod standard. If your car does not have the E-Diff look in your owners manual for the proper fluid but like OzXFR I also avoid the over priced dealer fluids if possible.
It's real easy to change and you will save hundreds of dollars by doing it yourself.
Here is my thread with pictures and I am thankful that Jaguar at least put a fill AND drain plug on the E-Diff units!
E-Diff Fluid Change
Note Jaguar does it a bit different too? They fill the rear end by volume. Not until it starts dribbling out the fill port like almost all the other rear ends do?
With my car it made no difference at all but it is written in the instructions so Jaguar must have had a reason to do so?

I don't know if this helps identify the right oil, but I downloaded the specs off TOPIx a couple of weeks ago (the diff oil change in on my 'to do' list for when the weather gets better here). It lists Castrol BOT720 for the electronic diff and Castrol SAF XO for the open diff.

The oil in question is the oil for transfer case for AWD Jags Originally Posted by clubairth1

I was recommended in another tread by OzXFR to use Motul for the differential which I did
OzXFR"I researched diff oil/fluid for my F-Type V6S a few of years ago.
My car has the mechanical LSD and the JLR recommended fluid is the same Castrol BOT 720 as for the e-diff.
Problem was I could not find a single seller of Castrol BOT 720 here in Oz other than to buy it from OS and pay a bloody fortune.
After mucho research I found another oil which meets if not exceeds the JLR spec which is readily available and a fraction of the cost of the Castrol brew - Motul Gear 300 LS, see here for example: https://www.ebay.com/itm/36426111635...Bk9SR7q5zauWYw
I bought a bottle then had the shop use it to replace the OEM diff fluid, that was some three years ago now, and the diff has been perfectly behaved ever since. If anything a minor diff whine I thought I could hear has now vanished.
Just make sure you get the LS version (stands for Limited Slip, duh!) and not the plain Jane version."

But he has a different car than you or me?
Again read your owners manual as what fluid you need will depend on what car you have? Note what cbarr found out with little effort? BUT he said nothing about AWD or transfer cases.
You can't go by recommendations on the Internet?
Jaguar made the car and provided a warranty on that car. They will tell you what fluids to use.
Now Jaguar will never tell you to use anything except the fluids they sell. This does NOT mean those are the only fluids that will work. That's why it's so important to educate yourself so your not ripped off using vastly over priced dealer fluids. This is not a Jaguar only problem. ALL car companies provide specific product recommendations.
They do this because of business deals they have made with various suppliers. Again note that Jaguar has signed a world wide agreement with BP (Who not surprisingly makes Castrol products!). So every recommendation from Jaguar WILL state the requirement to use Castrol ONLY products. This is a business requirement NOT a technical requirement. What Jaguar and all car companies try to do is hide exactly what the fluid is so we can't buy it anywhere except the dealer. It's just business.
Again another real life example? Jaguar and ZF both state that the ONLY fluid that can be used in a ZF 6 speed transmission is Lifeguard6. We all believed that until someone working in the Shell refinery in Houston,Texas let out the Mercon SP is the EXACT same fluid but colored red!
