I picked up my new to me 2014 XJL Supercharged 5.0 this morning. Has about 70k mile on the clock(or 115k kms),is white with brown upholstery. It has the fancy rear seat package(without tables) and the Meridian Reference Audio system etc. The 2012 XF 5.0 NA has gone. Pictures to follow.
Some pictures engine is clean ,has original cooling components In garage ready for inspection front passenger seat rear seat
Does anyone know where the body fuse box is located and how to access it . The Owners Manual says it is where the rear arm rest folds up, but I cannot see with these "aircraft seats"

There are several fuse box locations but the one you're referring to is located behind the leather you see in the arm rest pocket when the the arm rest is down.
Thanks. I did not realize that I needed an upholstery tool to open it. Anyway I found a blown 5amp fuse for the diagnostic system which I replaced. Now I can put my diagnostic tool on the car.
Thanks. Generally I prefer colors but I did have white Mazda RX8 back in the day. I had been looking at a 2015 XJ 3.0 in Italian Racing Red but could not make the deal.. Then this one came up and I could not resist the interior of this car---it even has a leather roof liner!
Welcome, nice car. Share with us what diagnostic tool you are using and if you used a fuse tester or did it manually. I would love to follow your next moves.
I have a Foxwell NT 510 Elite which I find easy to use and allows you to to do all systems diagnosis and most two way service stuff. I also have tools for Jaguar SDD but my software is only good for up to 2012 models. I may try to get newer software in future
The problem with the diagnostic issue was easy---I plugged my Foxwell into the diagnostic connector of the new car and it was dead---normally the tool will light up when plugged in because one of the pins has power. Then it was easy, just check the fuse box schematics in the Owners Manual and find out where the diagnostic system fuse is located and replace with a new one. There were a few weird faults historical showing when I ran the diagnostics so I cleared the lot. I have no idea why the original fuse failed.
The car has new brakes front and rear, new tires front and rear, a new electric fuel pump and wiring connections. At sometime in the recent past the cooling system had work done because it has the new version of the plastic pipes from the cylinder head to the thermostat and radiator, it may also have had a new header tank. In any event I have aluminum replacement for the plastic cooling pipes and a new water pump on the shelf.
I have been under the car and removed the front undertray and found what looks like a small leak in the high pressure feed pipe to the PS rack, some pretty interesting corrosion on the power cable from the rear of the car to the starter motor, the engine ground wire looks grubby. Pictures will follow as I work on things.
The good news is that there are no oil leaks from the engine, transmission or the differential. According to the Carfax differential seals were replaced when the car was a couple of years old. The had regular oil changes throughout and the view down the oil filler pipe shows very clean metal and a tight timing chain.
The car had genuine Jaguar batteries in it when I inspected it but I persuaded the dealer to transfer the new battery from my 2012 XF to the XJL as part of the deal. Now that the new battery has stabilised, I measured 12.9v on the new battery and 12.5v on the Eco start battery.

Reason: correcting useless memory/sp
Yes his car has the rare reference system and you can see in one of his pictures the speaker grills located on the back of the front seats. Which is the biggest difference compared to the standard setup.
With that and the rear seat options as least in the US those are both very rare. Interesting seat color and I also have never seen that shade before.
I think all your missing is the Champagne cooler in the center section? And maybe the crystal glasses to go with it.

Thank you for the information--always nice to learn new things. Does anyone have or know of a User Manual for this Reference System?
This morning I checked the alignment on the car with my good friend from Mazda and also rebalanced the wheels. I have attached the before and after readings. The car drives a lot nicer now.
Hi.
Holly God of all steering angles they were far off. x351 is very sensitive for angles.
My penny: Only Toe settings have been touched. Rear is Ok, but the front right Camber angle need bit attension. x351 have partially "hard bushing" from factory, so all the settings should be inside of narrowest tolerance area to have good behaviour (and not eating bushing or tyres out)
Camber is adjusted by lower suspension arm inner bolt and "banana" arm (front lower arm) inner bolts and are quite easyly accessible. (you need to recheck toe after camber adjustment)

Six Rotors, gorgeous car! I believe the color of your upholstery is called truffle. It happens to be the color of my dash. My 2014 XJ Interior is cashew with truffle.
We don't see many alignment threads and I have put 45K+ miles on mine in the 7-8 years I have owned it and have never checked the alignment yet. Tracks straight and true and zero odd tire wear so I have assumed it must be pretty close. With the car now at 65K miles I figure those "banana" arms will be the needing replacement in the future. Seems a lot of cars require that at or above the 60K mile mark.
Since I have staggered rims and I can't rotate them to spread the wear any misalignment should show up pretty quick. Plus with the Michelin tires I run I am replacing them before 20K miles.

My 2012 XF was similarly out of alignment when I bought it and after being aligned it ran straight and the tires showed even wear (I rotate my tires at each oil change). They were exactly half worn when I sold the car after 5 years and 25kmiles. I suspect that you take care of where and how you drive your car, just like I do, avoiding roads with big potholes etc. My new car has staggered rims so only side to side at the front and same at the rear with the tires on the car since it came with new General G-Max-07s.
One question --how reliable is the rubber hose under the supercharger?
I don't know if there is one under the SC on the 5.0L engines? Don't see anything about it in the forums like we did on the older 4.2L engines.
Got a picture or diagram of where it is?

There is a plastic piece behind the water pump, that will fail and leak over time. If the water pump has not been done, I'd replace it with a name brand pump and swap out the plastic for a metal version (along with two new gaskets) at the same time. LR028136 should get you the correct part.
