Default next problem...lighting issue

checked through the forums briefly and didn't see my issue anywhere.every once in awhile the double j's on the passenger side will turn amber without the signal being on.then it'll flash like crazy and stay on solid once i put the alarm on.when it stayed on i unhooked the battery for a minute then rehooked it up.then they went off.any ideas?thank you in advance as always.

The first thing is I would take both head lights out then swap them from side to side. We are trying to see if the problem follows the light or not. If not then it's a car problem. We don't see many problems with the LED headlights. I swapped my 2014 to the factory LED's over 3 years ago and zero problems so far.

What you are describing to me sounds like one of the computers is acting up and it is trying to turn on the amber part of the JJ. Now, whether it is something inside the headlight or being externally driven, that is the question. I would first start with swapping the headlights. See if the problem follows the headlight assembly (if so, tada, you know what you need to replace). If the same side still acts up, then I would disconnect the plug to the turn signal stalk. If it goes out now, then you know your turn signal stalk is the culprit. From there, you would need to disconnect the associated computer (do not have my diagrams with me as I am on travel). If it goes out now, then you know which computer module is needing replaced. If none of this works, then you have a wiring issue and honestly, you do not sound like a guy that works with wiring for a living and it will be well worth your frustration to let someone who does this day in and out look at it from there.

Did you install aftermarket audio system on XJ and then you entered your current problem? (just thought that maybe the CAN bus is messed up)
