Not the canister, I would say based on the codes - which all relate to the pump I think you'll see if you search the net (or consult jag doc).

Default Found the problem

JAG V8. It is the EVAP LEAK DETECTION PUMP and the CONNECTOR. I found the pump, but having hard time finding the connector, as it is a part of Body Hernes and Jag does not sell connector separately. They suggested that I should be looking at the junkyards.
Any suggestion?

I don't know where else you'd get the connector - but do you need it? I'd hate to be messing with the harness etc.

Default Finally fixed

Parts that we had to change other than the leak detection pump are as follows

1. Canister- C2D40532
2. Filler neck pipe- C2D49256
3. Shield foam- C2D49253

five hours of labour needed as it required the removal of the rear differential.

moe, if you have the ability to disassemble the connector, you should be able to get new pins from a place like NAPA (they seem to have the best choices when it comes to electrical stuff). You will just need to get some sort of sample so you can match up the repair pins to what is in your car.

To get the pin out, you can slide a really small (jeweler's) screwdriver down along side the pin and that will push in the metal hair that locks the pin in place. Once you get the 2 locks pushed in, the pin will slide out the back of the connector. From there, you can cut off the old pin and solder the wire to the new pin. Then inserting the new pin is simply pushing it back into the connector till you cannot pull it out by pulling on the wire. If it pulls out, then you need to push the wire in further. YOu may need to take the small screw driver and push the pin in that way to ensure the locks click into place.

I really wish I knew how to locate this plug and pump.
anyone know where the pump is located in the vehicle?

I believe that the pump is located on the gas tank but it would be helpful to hear someone say front drivers side or something more precise.

i suspect my pump connection is also corroded.

It's the EVAP fuel pump. The whole rear end has to be dropped which is NOT easy and should be left to professionals. Sucks, because the pump is only $100.

That does suck! Hopefully i can just leave it be!

Did you have any performance issues or just the light?

I only have a light and no performance issues.

I believe it causes a little bit of a fuel economy loss, but nothing else. The car still runs great, but the code will fail me during an inspection and I'm due so within the next week or so I'm going to have a family friend owned shop attempt to drop the rear end and try to do the swap.

Hi All,

my 2013 50SC cat just threw the P2402 and P240C codes. And reading this thread on the issue.

I found the below TSB but that is canister related and does not mention the pump. Is the pump separate? Some say they are one unit some say you can buy the pump separately? What’s verdict? Dropping the rear IRS is not gonna be fun but I need to fix it for a sticker. Is it dumb to just buy the pump and not replace the canister. Canister seems to be 300+ but the pump on parts geek is like $130 but can’t confirm it fits, I can’t find just the pump on the Jaguar catalogue.

This was a PITA but replaced the pump and canister this weekend. Lowered the IRS as far as the brake lines allowed and worked from the wheel opening as much as possible. I hope the code doesn’t come back. Wheels and tires need to come off I know the pics show otherwise but I did remove them for better access.

Codes came back like nothing was changed. It did last a bit after clearing codes for the CE to light. But I believe it’s still storing codes just not lighting the dash till later. I wonder if I have corrosion issues. Such a bummer. Can I reach the connector without dropping the IRS?

BTW P2401 never had, only P2402 and P240C

Sorry no help but your car looks great for being in the salt belt up in Mass.!
Underneath has hardly any rust on the hardware and just the threads rusted up a bit.

Oh one question? Since we saw a lot of corrosion up thread on another car. What did your plug look like? Any corrosion?
