EPC does show them on an Fpace, and it does also show different part #s for front/rear, also different pumps. I believe the distinction is with the alignment of the connector, from memory the last ones I did the plugs are in different locations so you can't cross them up, it matters.

That makes sense. I was wondering why the pumps would have different part numbers.

I could lie about performing a brake flush that isn't needed and pocket the $50 for zero labor. No evidence or missing parts, actually free extra brake fluid for me. Why remove used parts, have to market and sell them, for way less money, and still run the risk of getting caught for theft? C'mon guys, be a little logical here.
I understand what you're saying and agree with you that it's ridiculous and very unlikely.
The problem is that you're trying to say that I and anyone who recognizes very unlikely options is wrong to recognize them.

And I understand that some people would like to control the opinions of others and tell others what is right and wrong to think or say - sort of an authoritarian control. Many of us prefer not to submit to authoritarian control and insist on being able to have and speak our own opinions.

I would much rather argue a very unlikely or almost impossible possibility than argue someone else should not be saying it.

Thank you, Rover Joe for your updates.....and I'm really sorry for dragging you into this!!!!

The old F-Pace 3.5t in question was a 2017 model (pre Covid), so no supply chain issues that I am aware of off. We bought the car in 2019 when it came off lease at 24k when we lived in CA. I had always thought that the HPFPs (on the F-Pace) were very noisy, and I mean embarrassingly noisy, on start-up. Compared to the XJ, the pumps were very loud and didn't seem very "Jaguar"

After I bought the 575, I thought it was an Xj vs F-Pace thing. It was only after I replaced the alternator on the F-Pace that I noticed that the HPFP covers were missing. Which is why I asked the original question.

The car in question was dealer serviced (by the original dealer) until we bought it. There is no service record, or warranty action, to the fuel system at all. The only things that were fixed under warranty were a defective battery and a failed steering wheel heater.....Oh, and a really annoying rattle from the dash.

Again, really sorry for dragging you into this,

wombat

No need to apologize, I think there were some misunderstandings around what I said, but I meant no offense by it, and nothing said here could possibly hurt my feelings lol.

Bottom line is that the V6 is inherently more noisy than the V8 in most applications, and those covers missing would for sure hurt your case, there are bulletins out about the amount of 'normal' noise that comes from the fuel system, and this is an issue across the industry, just the nature of high pressure hydraulics. Lexus was the first, I believe, to add port injection to the DI motors in the big LS sedans, for just that reason. They could run the car on the port injectors at idle which were nearly silent, then switch over to the high pressure system once you were moving and the noise was not an issue for best efficiency. I fought the battle during my time at Benz, all of our gas engines were loud as hell, customers complained it sounded like a diesel with the windows down. MB answer? Roll the windows up. They were ok with any amount of noise outside the car, because the focus was on stopping it from going into the car, which they were very good at. Not always the easiest to explain to a customer why his new car was so much louder than his old one though.
