Good day to all. I finally got to do a photo shoot after some minor simple mods and wheel upgrade. Wheel size isn’t for everyone’s dinner probably most wont like but, I still wanted to post some pictures of my car. Proud XJ owner!!!
Vossen 22x9 on 265/30r22 front
Vossen 22x10.5 on 305/25r22 rear
leaper hood emblem
green fluted grille emblem
MG tail light trim
custom wrapped center caps and gear rotary knob
Those rims are beautiful. I don’t know about the feeling of bumpy roads, but they do catch the eye. Only thing is they make the rotors look tiny. Another upgrade?

yeah want to do big rotars and breaks. Maybe small muffler swap.
I think the wheels and size look great. Crazy that even 22" wheels don't look that large on this car. I agree with Nedoerrhowever...does make the rotors look too small. And I would definitely be concerned with bumpy roads...Firestone recently informed me one of my 20" Mataivas is very slightly bent.
I'm not one to like over sized wheels like that but for some reason those look really really good on this car. Almost like they were supposed to be there.

Thanks....and yeah for some reason these wheels make the car look longer. Not sure if it’s just me but that’s what I’m saying and sticking to it. And yes totally agree needs bigger rotors.

thanks!!’ Did a lot of searching and reviews and I was set on 20” maybe 21” and then I came across this set of wheels and to my luck a rim shop actually had these in stock not very common. Test fitted different size tires as I didn’t want a super skinny tire. I tried a 205/30/22 on rear that fit nice and was only about .8” different in side wall from stock. Then the fronts were a 265/35/22 and I could of run them but the inner part of the tire was to close to the spindle bolt. They would have to shave that bolt and I didn’t think that was a good idea nor did the tire specialist. So I we went down a size and figment is good. Probably could have done a 315/25/22 in the rear and would have put me closer to exact front and back tire height. Right now it’s about a 1/4” difference (rear is a tad smaller).
Anyways yeah man thanks!! And I wanted to look for something that kept me in all most stock looking look. With your comment I think I achieved it.
test fitment with bigger tires. This is the size Bentley’s and rolls Royce use.

I know that the XFR brakes will bolt straight up to an "ordinary" XF and the F-Type R brakes will bolt straight up to a "base" F-Type.
In both cases it's a change from 355 mm front and 326 mm rear (exactly what you have on your XJ) to 380 mm front and 376 mm rear.
Which means that XJR brakes (exact same 380 mm front and 376 mm rear as the XFR) should bolt straight up to your XJ.
With the 380 mm front brakes they are exactly the same brakes across XF, XJ and F-Type so you don't have to restrict yourself to the XJR version, any will do.
But you may have to check that the front wheels will clear the 380 mm calipers even though you have 22" wheels.
With the rear 376 mm brakes the F-Type version is different to the XFR version due to the different handbrake / EPB set ups - same rotors but different calipers and pads - so with the XJ it depends on what type of EPB set up you have (single central motor or separate motors on each caliper), but surely XJR ones will bolt straight up.
So the list of new parts you will need is:
- rotors/discs
- calipers and caliper brackets
- pads
- splash/dust shields
None of these come cheap and the only used parts you might be able to get away with (and find!) are the calipers and caliper brackets.
You can also get a nice set of slotted and/or drilled rotors on Fleabay for less than the cost of new OEM rotors.
Or else you can go the whole hog and get a set of Wortec "suncut" lightweight two piece rotors from Vivid Racing.
