scottjr1, it shold be the same size as a Fram PH8A filter. I have removed mine using an oil filter removal tool that has a fixed hook and then a small lever comes in and grips the filter. But, what I have found is that while this works, you don't get a lot of movement before you have to reposition the tool. If you need something, get the cup style that you put a 3/8" drive in the end that fits over the end of the filter. The cap on our cars uses the same shape as a conventional filter. So, any of the "over the end of the filter" caps will work.

Does 15 - flute, 89mm cap wrench sound the right size?

scottjr1, I would say to go to the local auto parts place and grab a PH8A filter and then try the cap on the filter. Granted, depending on the store, they may let you test fit the cap to your car to make sure you get the right one. I have done this, but then, where I live, it is a small town and they kinda know you and for me, they know I am the guy with the black jag which is easy to spot.

This is the one I bought, and it fits correctly. Where I live, it is same day delivery as well, and only eight bucks.

Yes. Here is a thread that has it all.

I got one that was labeled "907" on it for less than $5 off EBay.

Take a look as we had a few wrong turns before we figured out the correct one.

Has any one replaced the Cabin Air Filter on a 2012 XJ and is it easy or do I need the dealer?

Very easy:

Buy a compatible air filter. I got a Jaguar one on Amazon for pretty cheap a few months back. Installs the same as in the video above.

All the best.

Wrong thread. This is about oil leaks not cabin air filters. Do a search and you will easily find your answer.

Any suggestions on how I can get rid of "Service Required" message coming up at start? I have just done an Oil and Filter change, this is my first service without using the Dealer??

Thanks,

Thanks,
unfortunately there is no back door to resetting the service light as there are for the other models. you need a dongle, sdd or some scanners will reset(or say they will)

This is not a paid endorsement, but I bought a Foxwell NT510 scanner with Jaguar/Land Rover software pre installed. It does the reset (as well as other JLR resets, chassis error codes, and OBD II for $125.00 on Amazon. I have done it three times, and it works fine.

Good information here but the thread has now diverged to a SEVENTH TOPIC!

1. oil leak (original)
2. FIRESTONE FIREHAWK INDY 500 Tires
3. replace the car battery
4. brand of Auto Transmission Fluid
5. manual pumps to pump out the old oil
6. replace the Cabin Air Filter
7. get rid of "Service Required" message

When a thread stays ON TOPIC it remains as a useful source for anyone looking for that same information or having useful additional detail to add. When a thread wanders OFF TOPIC like this, the valuable information it holds is likely to be lost forever as no one would think to search for (7) under (1).

One topic to a thread and a relevant title makes the forum a more useful resource.
