Rear Antenna's
There are two antenna amplifiers in the rear of the XJ, one at each side of the rear glass on the 'C' pillar a grey and a black module. Does anyone have a clear idea of which one does what, I am trying to nail down a DAB no reception error. I just had the rear glass replaced thinking the cracks the old one had were the cause - seemingly not. I'm not unhappy to have replaced the glass but a little disappointed it didn't resolve the DAB reception - I know DAB in my area is fine as my previous XF worked fine as does our Passat.
Both antenna parts are listed with the same number ( C2D2984 ) but for sure they are different on my car - one black (which a believe is DAB and TV) and one grey which I believe is FM and maybe phone ? I cannot find the DAB module which is in the boot/trunk on the XF ( I replaced with a Land Rover unit ).
I have read the reception can be poor on the XJ but short of replacing I don't see any real way to verify these things. Does anyone have any tricks before I just replace them and where is the DAB module on the X351.
PPS : There are no diagnostic codes present
PPS 2 : The DAB module is in the boot / trunk on the left behind the trim cover.
LH Antenna Amp is FM2, DAB, TV3, TV4
RH Antenna Amp is AM, FM, TV1, TV2
There are two isolators one each side and if failed this could cause loss of reception so those having issues may want to replace them.
