Default Rear brake caliper

Ok. Tried to remove the rear brake caliper and what I thought were the upper and lower bolts to release the caliper body. But, They just seem to be spinning!
First photo: there is no spring on the outside! I checked the other side (driver’s) and it was the same. No spring.
The second photo: shows the bolt and what appears to be a second hex, almost like a jam nut (lock nut). I tried using the 7mm hex and it wouldn’t fit. Tried the 6mm; still no use. Feeling the body of the nut, it looked like it was the same unit, so I sized it and it was a 13mm socket that fit on the end of it. Turned loose and both nuts moved (shown in photo 2).
Photo 3: shows the end view of said bolt (13mm), and it takes a torx head (#45), but it also takes a 13mm socket.
Dilemma is: even after turning the hex heads with the socket for over 15 full turns, the slide bolts did not extract any more beyond a couple of mm (if that!).
Any advice from the forum members on what I could be missing, or not doing?

On the 2016 and above the brakes are the same on the F-Type.
Here is a thread on how to replace the rear from over there.

Thanks for that quick response, but he mentions 15mm bolts. Would those be the caliper bracket bolts? Where the whole body comes away.... If they are the caliper body bolts, does it take thread locker when reinserted and tightened to 85 ft/lbs?

Yes those are the bracket bolts to remove whole body. Yes you will need thread Lock. I have done it your way and you have to find a thin enough wrench to hold that nut on the inside.

100% agree with NvmyJag. You need to use the BLUE thread-lock on the caliper bolts.

Thanks NvmyJag and Wombat! I did start to think I would need to grind down an open ended wrench to grab the inner nut, but for now I will just remove the complete caliper body and get the brakes done! Always have blue threadlocker at hand, so we're good on that front.

Remember to also use the correct tool to push the rear caliper pistons back into their bores so new pads can be fitted. The wear sensor is on the RH rear side.

Refer to the vehicle Owner's Manual for the correct procedure to reset the electronic parking brake.

I used my ratchet wrench as they are thin enough to slide on the bolt.
Here is mine for reference.

NvmyJag, did you have springs on the outside of your brake caliper? If you look at my photos, I didn’t have any. Also the new EBC red pads I’d got were the wrong kind. I had ordered the DP32059C and the ‘ears’ on the end were different and it also looked like the new ones were about 3/16 too narrow (from upper edge to inner/lower edge). My originals, like yours have the spring type ears/tabs. You don’t by chance have the right part numbers for the rear EBC red pads do you, or anyone else?
