Default Resetting maintenance reminder

2011 XJL

Is there a way to reset the maintenance reminder that appears at startup?

regards Donm

It's done using the Jaguar SDD software or equivalent. Beware of clones that can brick your electronics and cost a lot to fix. An independent Jaguar mechanic or Pep Boys can do it for a small fee, or see your local Jaguar dealer.

I used my Launch X431 to reset mine. I would think any shop with a good scan tool could do it.

Press and hold reset button then turn ignition on.
Release reset.
Press and hold trip button.

When holding trip button, press and hold reset button.
Continue to hold both buttons for 10 seconds ( Message centre should display message like RESETTING SERVICE followed by SERVICE RESET ).
Numbers 1 to 4 need to be done within 3 seconds otherwise it will time out.

Just what I have seen. Haven't tried it yet.

Foxwell NT530 with JLR software will do it. They sell it on ebay, but Foxwell has it on sale for $169.00 with free shipping:

Foxwell NT530 Multi-System Scanner Works with Latest 2018/2019 Vehicles NT520 Firmware Updated

I did an oil change last week, and it absolutely works. It does several other functions as well (beyond OBD II).

I have an iCarsoft LR II unit and it does the trick too...plus more things like EPB calibration when doing the brakes. Great tool.
