Default Road noise howling

Are these cars really noisy on the road? I got this howling that sounds like bad wheel bearings, the tires are good quality Michelin Pilots and the bearing is new on the right and the left also looks fairly new. Could it be the driveshaft carrier? The road noise hum/howl is speed dependent, like a train car on rails going faster. I can’t imagine this is normal. But don’t have anything to base it on. The sounds have been there since my purchase. And like I said one wheel bearing is new and brakes new all around. Powerstop cross drilled which I feel I made a mistake purchasing because of the sound they also makes during hard stops. But the other wheel bearing like noise is not letting me enjoy the car.

Have some previous owner changed hard compound bushes to the suspension? That will transfer roadnoise to chassis.

I have the same problem. Changed the front wheel hubs and had the car checked over .
Nothing found to be at fault .
Two garages suspect tyres . Running on Nankang tyres so not original spec .
Really annoying and ruining the driving experience .

My 2019 is very quiet and absolutely delicious driving down the highway, and we have the noisiest grooved concrete freeways in the world around here.

I had a similar noise, speed dependent , but mine was more of a thumping sound. I had the right rear wheel bearing changed and that was the solution, got my beautiful , smooth ride back

Good luck

Since this is all personal can you drive another XJ to see if you hear it on that car?

You might get better info if you included the MY, RWD/AWD, mileage, accident damage, etc.
