Default Roof Noise, new TSB

Performed the TSB on my Advisors XJ when it came out last month, so far the noise hasn't returned. Hopefully everybody will stop posting posts about roof noises on this forum, it's getting old.

Now the question is what is the first VIN number that has this fix already from the factory. Once this number is out, I'm visiting a Jag dealer

And YES it worked. Car is quiet. Now I only hope it lasts this time.

My XJL is scheduled to go in next Tuesday for the new fix. I'll report back as soon as I have a chance to evaluate the success/failure, but I have high hopes!

I just got my XJL back from having the kit installed. I had the car since December and the popping noise just recently started (after 10 months). The service department took it in without hesitation. I was given a Land Rover as a loaner. I was surprised they didn't record the fuel level when I picked it up nor when I returned it. They fixed the source of the popping according to the TSB plus 3 other recall items that I wasn't aware existed. They were the center console lid release button (recommended), rear mat retention hooks (recommended) and instrument cluster configuration (recall requirement). The U.S. department of transportation required text in some readouts instead of just an icon... such as for tire warnings. Over all, I'm a satisfied customer.
