Default Royal Purple Oil Anyone?

Good Evening Jag Fam! New to the forum but not to Jaguar. Recently purchased my second Jag 2011 Supercharged with 46K miles for less than $23K. Incredibly rare to find any 2011-2012 X351 under 50K, well taken care, always seeing its services at the dealer with a clean title and CARFAX. The power of depreciation I say! Now this question may not pertain to the majority of owners but an owner like me with no warranty or extended, has anyone used royal purple oil for an oil change. Yes I’m aware of the requirements these Jag engines only use Castrol Professional Edge specific oil but I was wondering if at least one individual has experienced Royal Purple in their engine and how was their experience.
Thanks for reading Fam!

Any brand of motor oil regardless of viscosity or specs will work for a while in the 5.0L SC engine - until it siezes up. If you plan to keep your XJ for more than a year, don't skimp on the maintenance. Use only the proper spec motor oil, whether it's Castrol Edge Professional or another brand. If you're a DIY shade tree mechanic, oil changes are super easy because the filter is on top and you remove the oil using an extractor from the fill tube instead of draining the pan.

Is there a document on this site that explains how to do this? Once my warranty expires in 5 years, I'd really like to get more hands on with my Jag. I used to do my oil changes when I was a teenager and had a Trans Am but I've never heard of extracting via fill tube.

Here's everything you need to know about how to do the 5.0L oil change, from the X150 (XK/XKR) Forum, with photos.
