Default Solar Trickle Charging

Can you set up a solar trickle charger in the XJ and if so can anyone recommend a charger/panel. Does this need overcharge protection?

Any other information on setting it up etc would be appreciated.

The normal suggestion is to get a CTEK changer.
This is used by JLR in their showrooms.

A number of threads have been posted on the install. You won't regret getting the CTEK unit.
They make a Jaguar branded unit if that is important to you otherwise they are the same charger.

Some vehicles have solar powered cooler build in the sunroof, keeping the interior cool on sunshine. (VW Phaeton, if i remember right)
For sure it would be possible to build such a system for vehicle battery. Yes: You need panel & charger. Most of solar chargers are made for storing energy to vehicle type acid-lead batterys, so you have ready solutions available, and they (should) have overcharge protection, what for sure are needed.
I would check the caravan stores....
