Sun Visor Falling Down with bulge on top
The material cover can be removed, what happened is the 2 plastic halves of the Sunvisor separated, and the rod swivel is now protruding from the top (the bump you see) I used a very small screw to hold the two parts together and slide the cover back on ,one end tucks into the middle of both halves if your handy you can fix it if not an upholstery shop could do it

Regarding the floppy visor, I found this in a previous thread:
My drivers side sun visor was hanging down about an inch from the roof, in addition whenever I folded it down and then put it back up it made a loud snap sound. Very unbecoming a Jaguar. Something had to be done. Searching on the web showed new ones at about $300.00 bucks - ouch! And finding a used one in my color, on the drivers side and not broken was proving to be challenging as well. So it was time to try to fix it myself.And I am happy to report it took all of ten minutes and the fix is perfect and permanent. Steps to follow:
1.Get a flat screwdriver and pry mirror out. Just put in under the mirror around the four corners and it pops right out. (There are no wires behind the mirror, just contacts.
2. Pop off the cover holding the sun visor to the roof and get a torx bit ready to unscrew the bolt. You will need a bit of an extension because the space is tight (see what I fabricated in my pic)
3. Once the screw is out, pull out the whole thing from the roof and disconnect the wire.
4. Pull back the fabric and you will see the problem. The clam shell plastic housing is separated and needs to be tightly held together. I simply put in a one inch flat head dry wall screw to bring it back together tightly. (Maybe Gorilla glue would have worked as well?). Once I drilled it though the plastic I then removed the screw and used a Dremel to shave off the excess and then put it back in. It does not pierce the fabric on the other side. Put a little red X in the last pic, this is where the screw needs to be.
5. Put it all back together and you will see the sun visor now closes right up to the roof - nice and snug.
6.If the light on the mirror does not go on, press all four corners of the mirror down again, I guarantee the top part was not snapped back all the way in. The light will now work.
10 minutes of work and no cost!

I have had to do this three times on my x351, I have a previous post about my ordeal. Not being a diy, I waited until the right color for mine appeared on eBay,
bought the first pair for $150 and the second pair for just $50. My wife watched a You Tubevideo on how to replace them , and did the new installation in just
10 minutes. No issues, however, I use my sunglasses more now as I don’t want to use the visors and risk having them get the bump, tear and fall down again.

I bought my 2013 XJ 3.0 AWD in 2022 and noticed that the driver’s side visor always settled a bit below the roof line after closing. This year I thought I would use a windshield sunshade to protect my black leather dashboard. This is after all my daily driver, and a slick one at that!
After daily opening and closing that driver’s side visor completely flopped down and the inner metal spring mechanism opened up the top of the plastic creating a bulge in the fabric. I had to swing it to the side to see well enough to drive.
I could not believe that a replacement part with the ebony black Alston suede cloth (C2D34514PVJ) was $750-950 plus shipping! And there are no aftermarket options and rarely a used one available in my trim. Alas, I resorted to a DIY fix.

- Cut open seam stitches at top of visor to expose the broken plastic around the metal spring clip. Spread out plastic cover to reseat metal parts inside.
- Drill thru-hole into or under this metal inner piece to anchor a piece of metal banding. This took me a while with the wrong drill bits!
- Repurpose a piece of bicycle handlebar metal clip or banding to wrap around the split plastic top of the visor.
- Using a small screw and locknut, secure the metal clip using the hole drilled earlier. The locknut protrude a bit, but I don’t plan to handle that section very much to wear out the fabric.
- Pull closed the fabric and stitch back using matching thread. My wife’s a pro, but I’m sure you can manage just as well!
