But just wanted to hear about your Real-World driving experiences on the road. Coming from mid-size sedan to XJ's larger, longer & heavier size, the SuperCharged V6 performs well?

They are both great in their own merit. A turbo does not rob horsepower from the engine in order to make the desired boost which is another term for artificially increasing volumetric efficiency, they are spun by wasted exhaust gases. Typically a turbo will be a more complex and expensive setup if things do fail and being attached to the exhaust will make it go through many heat cycles thus causing fatigue of parts, Turbos are also prone to turbo lag which is the amount of time for the hot exhaust gases to do anything useful and make the turbines spin, for tuning a turbo will offer far greater increases by allow the boost increase (higher limits) electronically, a smaller turbo size will aid with spool up and boost faster allowing for quick response but the upper limits are reached quicker, with the smaller turbos. A supercharger robs the engine of power to make the desired boost, but the net increase is still positive, a supercharger is driven by the crankshaft. In comparison to a turbo its away from the exhaust so heat cycles are less. The only heat source is its own when creating boost. Its a cleaner installation set up if mounted on top of the engine and usually more reliable system as it has less mechanical parts and electronics. It provides instant boost, making power as soon as you mash the pedal, creating the effects of naturally aspirated engine. I favor the SC over Turbos, but in the tuning world Turbos are king. Supercharger whine is sexier than turbos spool and blow-off noises. Too bad Jaguar finds whine unsophisticated so they went to great lengths to reduce it. They did give us a little sound tube to enter the cabin, but only opens up at certain times and its mostly intake suction noise, not SC whine.
