The mount is the same in the X351 so the procedure should be the same. Based on my past experiences, I'm pretty sure my mount is on its way out. I've ordered the Eurospare aftermarket version mentioned at the end of the thread and will update once I've installed it.

 

It seems my hunch was right. The new transmission mount cut my symptoms in half. I still have some slight idle vibration...new engine mounts should take care of that.

Less than a month later I lost the water pump on the freeway and it killed the motor. I haven't seen my XJ in four months.

 

Yikes. I'm really sorry to hear that. I'm super paranoid about the water pump in this car. I check for signs of leaking at least once a week.
