Default Video in motion

Hi I have 2011 xj 351 3.0d I would like to activate video in motion so passengers in rear can watch videos while I’m driving but been told that’s only possible on 2012 onwards is it possible to do this I’m in Surrey

A bit more information is needed, I feel. Have you got built-in TV screens in the headrests? (I have a 2010, and I do, so it is definitely not a model year issue). These should work while the vehicle is in motion, for TV, DVD or thumb drive.

... If not, and you want them to watch the screen in the front then have you got a dual view screen? (I have a 2010, and I do, so it is definitely not a model year issue).

I believe that the law in the US disallows dual view screens, but this is definitely not the case in the UK.

Hi mate thanx for reply I’m in uk no I don’t have headrest screens just dual screen in front but only passenger front can see video when driving so would like to disable the feature so rear passengers can view videos when I’m driving regards George

Aha. OK - that will remove all functionality from the driver (and is technically against the rules, as the driver can then also watch), but it is possible: In this thread someone suggests a third party add-on, and in this thread there is more detail on the approach.
