Default Windshield trim and trim question.

I have a 2016 XJR in Celestial Black. I am looking for the left (drivers) side vertical windshield trim piece in black. I THINK the part number may be AW938853AA.

Also. The D pillar pieces are black, but clouding. any tips here or just need to replace.

Those pieces can be polished to restore. Look here for a recent discussion about this.

Thanks for the polishing tip. Will definitely try it. On the windshield trim, the lower part broke off. So I need that piece but having a hard time finding one for a decent price. Was hoping someone here had one.

Hi Delta, I think you are talking about this piece on the sides of the windshield?

I am also wanting to replace this piece as mine is cracked. I can slide it up and down- up to connect to the rest of the piece and hide the crack. But does anyone know how this piece is connected and is this easy to replace by yourself?

Sorry for no help but these came with the windshield when I had mine replaced on my 2014 XJR?

Safelite first brought out an aftermarket windshield and I was OK with that IF it fitted as factory. The installer was great and knew I was a car guy. But it came without those 2 side trim parts. He called Safelite and said we need an OEM windshield because of this. Too Safelite's credit there was no argument and a factory windshield was ordered and installed.

Here are a couple of pages from the shop manual. They don't offer any instructions except that the finishers come with the new glass?

Here is a diagram from the JPART system and it shows item 3?

This looks to be the "PU Kit" mentioned in the above shop manual?
They have two different part numbers depending on your VIN (You did not post the last 6 digits of your VIN?).
The break over was at VIN V90930 which should be a very late produced XJ.
Jaguar C2D7026 and after that it's listed as C2D49241.

This kit is shown as item 3 in your link too. But do note the change with the VIN.

Thanks for this... well I assume because it says that if you remove the glass and reinstall that the trim pieces will have to be discarded, that you can reinstall new trim pieces? I'll have to ask my local dealership one of these days.

Yes that's the part I was never clear on? According to the glass installer they need to come installed with the windshield BUT I am not sure of this and did not witness him installing the windshield either? Jaguar does sell the trim separately so you must be able to replace it without replacing the windshield too?
