Car was in accident with steering wheel and right curtain airbags deployed.
Won’t start. Says U0151-00 lost communication with RCM restraints control module, and B10A2-31 crash input. Already replaced airbags from donor vehicle. After clearing still same codes won’t communicate with RCM module and no start.
Does RCM module also have to be replaced? Cannot find relay R12 in central fuse box that per diagram is for RCM. Car and donor are both 2011 V8. Leads appreciated.
There is no inertia switch per se. There is a relay contact that the ECU controls that supplies power to the fuel pump. If the car senses something that activated the air bags, the ECU will open this contact, killing power to the fuel pump. The quick check would be to simply have someone outside the car (near the right rear tire) and when you press the ON/OFF button (no foot on the brake), you should hear the fuel pump kick on to pressurize the fuel system. That would answer the pump question.
I remember on some xjs there was an inertial switch that turned off the fuel pump.
There can be many reasons why your car won't start after an accident. We don't see what's going on under your hood. Do not try to start the car after the accident. It is better to take it to the service or at least open the hood and see what there in general is. When my car had an accident, I immediately took it to the service, and I also hired a houston car accident lawyer to know all the accident details. Sometimes this can also help find a breakdown, for example, if you find an accident record. After a severe accident, it is probably better to disassemble the car into parts and buy a new one.
