I have a 2012 x351 . I can open the trunk from the dashboard release. I cannot open it using the key fob. To close the trunk ,I use the trunk actuator button on the trunk lid. the lid goes down all the way as it should , but then it seems (?) to unlock and the trunk lid pups up about an inch or two and if I drive it far enough eventually the trunk lid opens all the way. The trunk warning light on the dash illuminates . I cannot lock my car because it senses the trunk is open (unlocked ) which it is
What should I be looking for to fix this problem ?

Do you happens to have 2nd key in trunk? Lid do not close if the key are detected inside.
Next i would read the error codes for proper fault description.

Thank you for your comments, the key is not in the trunk, its in my wifes' purse. I'm not a dyi so I don't have access to a code reader, but will consider taking it to a Jag dealer or an Indy.
