Double Six Coolant/parts recommend + replacement LEDs…
Hello again all,
First of all, really loving this forum, it’s full of lovely, helpful people and I’m most appreciative! I only wish I myself could give more but my own knowledge is limited!
First and foremost I am getting the bits together for doing a major service on my Japanese Double Six. I have MOST of the bits but am still missing:
JLM12239 - Transmission drain plug
JML12240 - Sealing washer
They’re widely unavailable but there must surely be an equivalent that would do the job?
Also looking for the recommended coolant. I believe it was/is JLM204043 - does this still stand? I googled this number and a coolant from Granville appeared which is this: https://www.britishparts.co.uk/class...tifreeze-p9207 It says on the page that it supersedes JLM204043 but I can’t confirm that either coolant is correct! I appear to be running a cool engine at the moment and I want to eliminate incorrect coolant first as an issue before I start poking at thermostats.
…..and my final question (thank you for humouring me!) is something a little more pedantic (I do love my cars!) - is it possible to replace the bulbs/LEDs inside the auto transmission display for PRNDR? I have red lights - is it possible to dismantle the gear selector mech to replace these? I also have a couple of lights for window switches that have died also - can I source the individual bulbs or do I need new switches?
Any and all advice welcome and appreciated, thank you!
Dan

they still sell their coolant for cars filled with d542/580. the only problem it’s outdated and expensive. flush and replace with off the shelf blue
shifter is a 194 bulb you just take the vinyl surround off

Thank you both. I’ve also realised I’ve got a light out (I think, it’s never been illuminated!) for switching to main beam with the little rocker switch on the left of the dash. Is that part of the dash easy enough to pry open without damaging?

The rocker switches and gear shift lights are the same on the X300 body the same as the V12 just different transmission ( heavier GM ) and engine regulation
There have been others that have done the LEDs in this X300 section as well as the rocker switch assembly
I would suggest to put 2 separate topics in that area and you would have more traffic to get some tips from

thanks for this. I think I feared I didn’t want to put too mau new Threads in danger of breaking forum rules/annoying people too much! I think I’ve got the info I need for now but will do in the future if necessary.
thanks
