Use coolant that is described in the TSB above. Easiest OAT coolant to locate is DexCool, which also meets JLR specifications.

I suggest you find a new parts supply look up. Dex Cool is 100% compatible

I think you are right. OAT is the key. Another site confirms.

Well, dear Mr. romroc...

For almost 5 years I'm using this "Prestone 50/50 fluid" on my XJ8, 3.6L y2007
to my complete satisfaction.

But... it is up to your private decision.

FYI.

P.S.
From today's car inspection, my "iCarsoft" Diagnostic Tool scanner reports:
Engine coolant temperature ----- 91°C and 5-6 min. later:
Engine coolant temperature ----- 92°C

It appears that an OAT coolant is called for.

As far as the coolant type, I bought a 5 litre bottle direct from the Jag dealer. Part number JLM209723. Probably paid too much but, at least, no problem with the dealer saying "you might have used the wrong coolant." The problem with losing coolant has finally been solved. They did an overnight pressure check on the system and finally determined that there is no internal leak. The problem seems to have been a faulty pressure cap allowing steam to escape and eventually lowering the fluid level. Simples! By-the-way, fuel consumption, in Europe, is measured as so many litres per 100 kilometers. Now that the engine is running at the correct temperature with proper pressure maintained there has been an immediate drop in fuel consumption by about ½ litre per 100 kilometers. My old XE diesel used about 5.5 liters per 100 kilometers, my XF AWD with the same diesel engine averages about 6.5 litres per 100 kilometers and my new XE with the 250hp petrol engine is at 8.0 litres per 100 kilometers - a significant increase in running costs but, in my opinion, well worth it for the super performance. It's a very satisfying, very quick car.
