Suddenly with no apparent reason the steering wheel extension on my '95 VdP 6L stopped working. It makes a clicking sound as if a gear is not quite meshing with a rack. I'm fairly handy and have the shop DVD (what a horrible mess that is, although I did figure out how to replace the radio using it). Any tips or should I just give it up?

 

Greetings Jon (if you're still here)! Sorry to leave you with no replies until now. Were you able to research your problem in the X300 section? I know there is talk of various repairs to the steering column. I've not needed to dig into that yet, but it is feasible for the home mechanic to repair, as with many issues with these cars (which you probably know already). Or you could simply leave it as is, if it happens to be in a position you like!

If you'd like to come back and post in the New Member's section, we can give you a proper welcome, and hopefully learn more about your rare cat! Most would agree that rose bronze is a uniquely beautiful color, and it seems quite rare to see it on an X300 or X305. That would only happen for 1995 model year, as it was discontinued after that. I know id like to see pictures!

All columns for the 3 are nearly identical.
