Tranny Fluids
Just boght a 1994 Jag XJ12 Vadem Plas w/ 78K original miles, I'm going to change all fluids to AMSOIL sinthetic including rearend, I haven't pick it up yet so I don't have the manual and I need to know the amount of transmissin fluid necerssary so I can order it ahead of time, SO! how many qts of tranny fluid? ? ? anyboby
The total trans capacity is about 12 quarts, BUT.....
You can only drain about 4-5 quarts at a time. The rest stays in the torque converter. If you want to get ALL the old fluid out then you'll have to do the drain-refill-drive-drain again procedure. I'm guessing four drain-n-fills will do the trick....so get about 20 quarts.
Cheers

Welcome Harold,
Congratulations on your new XJ12 Jaguar. Good idea to start with fresh fluids all round. You will need about 11 qts of engine oil. Also, check and tighten cooling system connections, make sure belts are good, and lube the 4 rear axle U-joints.
There is no dedicated 1994 XJ12 (XJ81) forum here, since your model is extremely rare! However, you will find plenty of assistance in the XJ40 section for the chassis, and in the XJS section for the engine/transmission (the 94 and 95 XJS V12s are very similar to your setup). Of course you are welcome to post right here too.
Please add an intro to the New Members section for us when you have a chance. Give us a little history about how you became a Jaguar XJ12 owner. You will enjoy that car!
