04 xj8 front suspension deflated after sitting on lift all night waiting for brake pads... any ideas
This ones for you jag techs out there or anyone that can help!
As title says, has a air susp light on, I was out sick today and my tech called me about it and said he couldn't find the data link connector to hook up our scanner. We put brakes on it previously but it was fine after an hour or so on lift that day but customer had returned because my TECH left the antirattle clips off... so needless to say she had some clicking noises going on.
Anyway I checked alldata and found no special procedure for lifting besides the jacking locations being specific and nothing else.
I told him try unhooking the battery for a few minutes and see what happens after recoonecting it. He said he had let it run 20 minutes prior to calling me and it would not inflate in the front at all. That was an hour before closing and I never heard back from him so I hope it did the trick.
I'm sick as a dog and looking to go into work tommorow (I'll still be sick but I need to be there on saturday, we'll see how that pans out) and the fewer headaches I have then the better. Just trying to get prepared for the morning in case it's still there when I get there.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

It depends what the light said. If it was air suspension too low, that is normal for some of them when it has been up in he air.
You need to carefully drive it off the lift. Do not turn too sharply with the suspension low or you will damage the front fenders.
In a straight line drive over 5mph and stop. Brake ok da hard and accelerate hard so height sensors see achange.
do this a couple times. Next open the hood. Bounce the front of the vehicle up and down vigorously and shut the hood. This is all with car running. Standback and watch it rise. Not very technical I know but works.
For your guy that couldn't find the dlc, it is above throttle pedal to the right.

This has nothing to do with the topic but I noticed your forum name Dixietech and have to ask, you wouldn't be from the Huntsville area would you?
If you prefer not to answer I understand but I was just curious.

Yeah I went in Saturday (just to check on this, still sick as a dog) got there, talked to the tech and once they backed it out and let it run a minute it was fine. Thanks for all that replied!
I ended up going right back home. It seems the flu is going around here... good fun!
