Default '05 X350 Navigation Disc version question

This question is for owners in the USA.

I have an 05 XJ Supercharged, and I want to buy an updated Nav disc. The car has the original Denso disc which is for 2003-2004. In doing my research it looks like the latest version for this car was 2009-2010 with Denso part # 464110-7940. There is also a 2008-2009 version that I could live with part # 464110-7171.

There are a number of these on eBay, but they all say that they are not compatible with an '05 XJ. Can someone who has an '05 XJ with either the 2008-2009 or 2009-2010 let me know what the Denso part # is in your car.

I believe the Jag part # is 6W83-10E898-BE or BF. Not sure what the difference is between the BE and BF versions unless it is East coast and West coast USA.

Default Denso part# 464110-9250 2011-2012

For my 2005XJR I purchased Denso part # 464110-9250 2011-2012

I purchased it on Ebay by replying to someone selling a Jaguar NAV DVD 2011-2012 for an X-type. He said he could get one for my 2005 XJR same price which was $50.

It covers USA and Canada.

Needless to say thats a low price however he did as promised and the DVD looks and acts like the genuine thing.

In any case look here 464110-9250 | Car Navigation DVD Maps

Thanks, I just found the 2012 disc you are referring to at NAVDVDMAPS.COM - 2015 Navigation DVD for BMW, Ford, Toyota, Lexus, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Infiniti, GM, & More - NAVDVDMAPS.COM The cost was $50 plus shipping. I'll post an update when I get it. Of course, I bought an 2008-2009 on eBay yesterday for $30.00. Guess I'll be putting it back for sale once I know the 2012 disc works properly. Will I have to input my addresses and other information all over again, or is it stored on some computer chip in the car?

Thats a good question. I really cannot remember. My car was relatively new to me and I know that I deleted a lot of stored addresses and waypoints from the previous owner. It took a few minutes for the new disc to "load" and I do remember that. Since the DVD is read only the addresses stored have to be somewhere else. So with any luck your stored addresses will still be there.

Thanks, I will update this thread once I receive the DVD. That is a good point about it being Read Only. Glad you told me that it will take a few minutes otherwise I'd be getting nervous. BTW, I read somewhere that some people have tried re-booting the system by holding down the NAV and Menu buttons at the same time, and then putting in some new code. Apparently this is not a good idea at all, and has cost owners a lot of money to have the dealer reset the system.

There are several types of screens you can get up by pressing different keys at the same time and generally speaking any option to "update" should NOT be chosen.
Will wait to see how you make out.
