Hello all. Im curious about your opinions regarding my next purchase. Currently it's between a 2006 XJ8L black on black with 52k miles or a 2006 Super v8 Portfolio winter gold with 76k miles. The Portfolio is about 5k more than the XJ8L in price. Obviously the Portfolio is a much rarer car with many more options, but do you think the almost 30k mile difference is significant? Should I jump on the Portfolio or stick with the XJ8L? I've owned an XJ8 and a Super v8 before so I know the feel more or less of each. What do you all think? Thank you!

 

I would be inclined to go with the Portfolio since I've seen some fairly high prices for them. 76K miles isn't all that much for current cars IMHO.

Ask yourself, when you dream at night, is it a black or a gold one? Do you dream in Jaguar? Buy that one...

 

I did find a Winter Gold Portfolio for sale, although it was in NZ for about $29K NZ dollars. Most Portfolios are black or black cherry to the best of my knowledge.

 

This is the 1 you speak of correct? It actually has went down 5k since originally listed; I frequent Auto trader almost daily, so I've been following this 1 since the beginning, & if it didn't have that color interior, I'd literally have 2 Winter Gold X350's...

 

I went on Autotrader and did a search for Super V8 Portfolios and there are only four in the US for sale. The gold one, two black ones and one black cherry. One of the black ones has a Navy Blue interior.

 

All things being equal - condition, maintenance, etc. - I would buy the Super V8 Portfolio in a heartbeat. Allot of car for the money, but mileage and price are the "equalizers". Just my $0.02 worth.
