There are many posts over time that have questioned whether one could fit an 18 inch rim over the Brembo calipers that are fitted on OEM 19 inch wheels.

I can now say that this is possible as I purchased a set of 18 inch Vela rims original to the 2011-15 F-Type on to put on my 2005 Super V8.

They fit perfectly and look great. I'll post some pics at some point, but for those still with questions, this is not a problem.

Thanks to member magmedia for his advise and great price on the Vela wheels.

It is worth noting that not all 18" wheels will fit. I forget the Jaguar style name, and the wheels were sold on long ago, but I tried to fit one of the original 18" alloys from my X350 V6 3.0 to my XJR with the Brembo brakes after I got two flats on the same side and it would not fit over the front calliper. IIRC it did fit the rear, so I mounted the XJR spare on the front.

 

I run winter tyres on the " luxury " 18" wheels and my 2004 Super V8 has the Brembos, no problem with them at all.

 

No issue with the Tobia wheels either.
