Default 2004 XJ8 - no rear window defrost

I've pulled the fuse (manual says f19 in the trunk) and it checks OK. The review mirrors seem to be defrosting just fine. Any idea why the rear window won't work? There's some relays on the rear fuse block, but my manual doesn't say what they do.

R5 in the rear distribution is the heated rear window relay.

There will be a relay somewhere due to the need to switch the high amperages. Other thing is has anyone been near the back of the rear screen with anything, the elements are easy to damage.

I just bought the car, so I have no idea on history. It doesn't look damaged, though, and I'd be suprised if someone damaged it enough that none of the elements worked. I'll check the relay.
