2005 XJ Super V8 Intro
Hi all,
Thanks for allowing me to join your forum. Just a quick intro. I have a 2005 Jaguar XJ Super V8 that was purchased new and now has 35,000 miles on it. The car is pristine and barely driven. There are a few things that I have questions about and perhaps you all can help me out.
Firstly, I need a new fog light, a rock came of a truck and shattered the housing, any recommendations for where I should source that part from.
Secondly, my headliner is starting to sag. It seems like it is a common happening in this generation of XJ. How did the majority of you manage this situation. Any recommendations for a shop in NJ that deals with upholstery. Really upsetting to see this considering how well the car has been maintained and has always been in a heated garage.
Thirdly, it seems like I may be looking into some air suspension work shortly. I hear the compressor running when I drive it sometimes and it is making me wonder what exactly is going on. The car does not sag and there is no vehicle too low warning. Do they tend to have a lifespan? My XC90 and XC60 both have air and they never run nearly as long as this compressor does and I don’t remember it ever running this long before.
Random question: I see the majority of these cars have a headlamp button on the dash next to the valet button. I don’t have that. was that some option that I missed?
Other than that the car runs great. It has a new set of tires put on a year or so ago and has been maintained either by the dealership or a local jaguar/LR specialty shop. I car is run a couple times a month but really doesn't get too much use unfortunately.

I would post the The XJ range Introduction 2004 Model Year Tech Guide that we were issued at the dealer in 2003 but................
It is over 11mb so too large to post as attachment.
It is a .pdf and Gus will likely have it on his site because I sent it to him a decade (or more) ago.
Just internet search for Jaguar Publication Part No. JJM 18 15 21/40, January 2003
236 pages of EVERYTHING YOU WANTED TO KNOW

Welcome.
For the fog light - look on ebay.
The 00 - 02 S Type fog lights are also a direct fitment.
As far as upholstery- there is a place in Montclair, NJ that does top notch work. Forgot the name of the place but was featured in My Classic Car".
I'm also in NJ, have lots of parts and if you need access to Jaguar IDS or SDD - I have a legit setup....
