2007 XJ Super V8 Air Suspension replacement
Hello,
My car now has about 97,000 miles. My right front air suspension is a little low after sitting for a while, however, the aircompressor pumps air into the air suspension real fast when I start the engine so it becomes ateven height with the left air suspension. I'm wondering if I should change the front air suspension at this time or ? What about the pair of rear air suspension, should I change them also? or am I just being to proactive and premature in anticipating wear/tear on the air suspension replacements?

Hi philc850,
The problem with the front right air spring losing air may be as simple as a slow leak at the air hose fitting on top of the unit. You can test for leaks by disconnecting the electrical connector to the CATS solenoid on top of the air spring/shock unit and placing a piece of tape over the electrical connector to keep water out. Now carefully spritz a little soapy water around the air hose fitting and around, but not on, the electrical connector. Bubbles indicate leaking air.
If the leak is around the central area of the shock, it is probably the main upper seal that is leaking, and as of now the only solutions we know of are to just live with it (as I am doing) or replace the entire unit.
If the leak is around the air hose fitting, you can probably repair it by following the instructions in the Workshop Manual, which you can download for free in six sections from this forum. The basic operation is to make a clean, 90-degree cut across the air hose about 1/2 inch from the end (Jaguar recommends the use of a special tubing cutter). Install a new compression fitting or "olive," and carefully hand tighten the fitting, then snug it up with a wrench (it doesn't take much).
You can dowload the Air Suspension section from the Dealer Training Manual here:

Cheers,
Don
