Default 2008 bumper cover question

Will the 2008 front and rear bumper cover fit on the 2004 XJ8? It looks like a direct bolt on fit, just add driving lamps. Am I correct? I may geta 04'this summer and freshen the look to the 2008 look.

I hunk the hood is different, as is the grill. You would have to change it all.

Why would the hood be different? Since the grill 08'(isn't this being done) can be fitted to 04' cars, wouldn't the front bumper cover work as a direct bolt on?

Has anyone tried this yet?

This question has been brought up several times before. Can not be done without modifications and great cost. What are you trying to achieve, perhaps I ca make some suggestions?

I think the general consensus of someone that did the swap..

The Rear Bumper cover bolts right up, you do have to change the trunk finisher to get the 08 full length chrome strip.

The Front bumper cover needs new fenders, fender liners, grill, fog lights, and wiring harnesses.

if you search there was a guy in England that did it with no expense spared.

Attempted a little "cut & paste" to view what mine would look like. Except for the color differences, I like it.

IF you had to have everything exact, it would be easier and more cost effective to trade yours up. OF you could make some small changes that could have a big impact.

Update the grille is simple, remove the chrome inserts and have them painted to match the body color, get a 2011+ lower matching mesh insert from the new XJ and place it in the opening on yours.
