2008 XJ front end and rear body work. Will it fit an 2004 ?
i have an 04 xjr and i was looking at the 08 xj body front airdam and rear bumper/valence and it looks like that they would bolt right up . what do you guys think ?
It's been done. I saw a guy in the UK who posted, specifically where I forget, that he had done it. It's quite expensive and, IMO, the "facelifted" XJs look awful. That and crushing depreciation convinced me to buy a used one.
Cincinatti, RLD is right regarding the conversion and hidden parts being different, if you really want the 08 look you would be better off probably just going out and buying an 08.

Front bumper monts look in the same location to me - I'm sure you can measure them. X-dave (the UK guy) also changed the front fenders to get the new style power vents, but I don't think that is required.
If you have 04, you will still have the door molding and the old style side marker lamps. I'm not sure how the new front would go with the old style side lines.
