2009 Super V8 Portfolio HID leveling
Hey everyone -
Trying to sort an issue with my 09 Super V8 Portfolio’s HIDs. It’s my understanding that the car does not have auto leveling lamps, as those were deemed unnecessary due to the auto leveling suspension updates made sometime in 08 (I think there was a TSB on this but I can’t find it).
When I bought the car about a year ago, both HIDs were aimed down as low as they can go. After my mechanic changed the HID bulbs, both are now pointing straight upwards. Any thoughts on how to properly aim these? Thanks!

Well, given this change has happened when the 'bulbs'/'burners' were changed then the first thing I'd do is check that the new ones are properly seated. If they're not sitting at the correct angle in mounting then you could easily get the effect you describe.
Oh, an afterthought ... it would also be worth checking that the new bulb/burners are the correct type. I say that because on this side of the Pond there is one well known auto accessory retailer that, in its lighting catalogue, gives the wrong type for the 350 (or it still did the last time I looked).
In theory it shouldn't be possible to get the wrong one to fit, but with ingenuity ... ?
The correct bulb is a D1S. That should be printed somewhere on the little metal box that's the base of bulb.
