Default 33K mile 08 VP just coded C1799

Out of the blue started the VP this morning and ANOTHER pesky light came-Park Brake fault. Tested it with my Ancel LD700 and showed a code C1799. So I did the park brake release procedure with my foot on the brake several times to no success. It works fine you can feel it while your foot depresses the brake pedal. I did so reading on some old posts-is there anything new I can can try before I may end up taking it to the shop? In a few minutes I'm going to disconnect the battery for several hours and reset later this afternoon.. I am not to well versed on trouble shooting in depth electronic issues. Thanks.

Parking brake motor position sensor circuit(s): open circuit, short circuit to ground, short circuit to B+ voltage, high resistance
Parking brake motor position sensor failure (parking brake motor failure)

You can try clearing the code?

Well disconnecting the battery and reset didn't do it either.
