Hello all,

I got a question regarding the AC refrigerant recharging. Recently I performed this recharging where the technician overfilled (double) the refrigerant by mistake. During the first fill it recovered hardly any oil from the system but when the system re-flushed again to get the right refrigerant quantity around 1.5 OZ compressor oil got removed from the system. So, the overfilling might have affected seals in the compressor.

Do you know how much total compressor oil is generally filled? Can I use my AC while I wait on topping the oil? How about these options on advanced auto?

I think the aerosol version might be easier to work with but do you have any experience and suggestions?

You should the same amount that came out.
Look into oil injector for ac systems.
The screenshot below shows the oil amounts.
Again, only add what came out. Too much oil will inhibit cooling.

I already located the oil injector. I will add this oil on Monday so no AC for three days!

 

What's that in the manual about "air conditioning lines", and adding 10 cc of oil per line?
