XJRTrooper, I may be too late, but I also have the 04 XJR. I just purchased the JLR software and cable from British Diagnostics on ebay. I have used it and it works fine. Jaguar Land Rover Diagnostics Coding Programming Kit Dealer Software IDS SDD JLR | eBay
I hope that link works. I have the no abs/trac/cruise fault and in my case it is wheel speed sensor. I suspected, but the software confirmed. My learning curve was in using VMware properly. There is a user manual for JLR SDD software out there for free download along with a user guide for VMplayer. If I'm not making sense, VMplayer runs XP which has the SDD loaded. The software comes on 2 cds. Just follow the instructions to install, plug in the mongoose cable and plug it up to your car. You can scan all the modules, even program them (be EXTREMELY careful) and read codes. Best money I've ever spent on the car so far. Contact me if I can answer any questions. I highly recommend the British Diagnostics software and cable based on my experience with it and the cost. Simply a plug and play setup. Good luck, Dale

I don't have any updates to speak of. I still get the message and the cruise control doesn't work. I haven't driven my Jag in awhile. I am stumped as to what the problem is. Thanks to all for asking, and thank you for your suggestions. I hope that something works form me.

Does anyone know if the adaptive cruise control can be downgraded to a normal cruise control system?

Hi dbsouthworth,

There is a thread somewhere on the forum about this and at least one member claims that yes, the ACC can be downgraded to standard cruise. I've tried to figure out how to do it using SDD but have not yet succeeded. If you figure it out, please let me know!

Cheers,

Don
