Default Added Lower Mesh Grille to Super V8

Added a lower mesh grille today. Don't think I'll make any other mods.

No way I would do it if it wasn't the same material on both.

Thanks for the input. It was wavy because it hadn't been permanently mounted. It is the same material and same design in both lower and upper grille. However, there is not as much space between the holes on the lower grille. I'll post an updated picture showing the final mounting.

Is there no way to insert the mesh behind the aero blade? That would look a lot better and framed in to match the upper...

You are right. It would look better. To make it work the grille would have to be cut and redesigned. Below are pictures of the final mounting. Tell me what you think? I've also included a picture of a car from the Tunerworks website which is where I got the idea to change the grille.

Looks better than your previous pics, but still not to my taste. It just looks too plain and empty and does not match the look of the upper grille due to the lack of framing. I would seriously explore cutting it to fit inside. The other issue as I have discovered, cares with Adaptive Cruise Control are compatible with that much mesh.

I took your advice and mounted it behind the factory pieces. I think it would look better that way if I paint the factory pieces the same color as the body paint or if I chrome them. I really don't like those black factory pieces with or without the grille.

I'm traveling for the holidays. I'll post a picture when I can to give you a perspective of what the grille looks like inside the factory diffuser. I will say that I don't like the grille whether its outside or mounted inside. I'm sending it back. The factory setup looks best. I've removed the grille and I'm back stock. Car is as before. All original, fully loaded and no mods. I will post a picture so you can see what it looked like though.

This is what it looked like with the grille within the diffuser.

I really like the Super V8. Almost want to sale my BMW 750 Li and get another Jag. Then the wife and I would have Jags.

Actually that looks really good, maybe a body coloured upper grille surround from an XJR and paint the lower inserts black

Default Camera

I think you should sell the bmw and buy a camera. Then just drive your wife around and take pictures.Just kidding.....seriously your phone camera sucks but your car looks great.I'm sure glad your the one that experimented with the mesh.I think I'll rule it out now.I put the pillar chrome, rockers, changed to the chrome trunk mold, mirrors and just ordered a chrome grille surround.I just bought some tan vinyl and foam.I made a booster seat for my 2.5 year old.It almost looks factory.I'm going to get a supercharged emblem to stick on the front of it.Thanks for the pictures.Happy New Year,Dave

Default Photos?

Can you all please take your photos in the daylight?
A lot of detail is left out with night photos.

I thought the car looked good after you got the lower mesh properly installed. But I think it looks even better without it. If I were you, I would be driving that Bimmer and dreaming about my wife's car, too!

I also like the idea of body colored surround on the grill as Jahummer suggests, but then again, it's a SUPER V8! It came just that way from the factory. It's DONE.

Maybe you should buy the SWB version for yourself, and have "his and hers". LWB for extra legroom, double dating, chauffeured occasions, and the firmer suspended, more muscular looking "R" for commuting, etc. Happy motoring!

Maybe you'll permit me to borrow your camera.
We have camera's. I've never used them. Your son is handsome. I have two sons.
