Air Conditioning 2006 XJ6
I bought my Jag a year ago during our summer season, (Australia) and noticed that the air conditioning was not as cool as I was expecting. It did work and blew cool air but not very cold. I had other more pressing issues to deal with and as these are now done and fixed I turned to the A/C issue. My first thoughts were that it may just need re gassing. So I had this done but there is no improvement. Today the ambient temperature is 29 C and the A/C is barely coping. I am concerned that when it warms up here to a typical summer day of 32 to 35 degrees the A/C will just not provide cold enough air to be comfortable.
So, is there something else I can have checked out?

It might be possible that the climate control temperature system is stuck. The valve that mixes heated air with cold air is a servo controlled by the climate control computer. If it won't close, you could be getting heated air mixed into the air coming from the vents. The A/C might be cooling just fine, but the heater is adding its contribution. I'm not sure a general A/C tech would be qualified to find something like that, it might take a Jaguar-aware shop, either a dealer or a good independent.
