Default Air Conditioning not working

The Air Conditioning is not working on my 60,000 mile 2004 XJ8.
Does it just need a refrigerant gas top-up or should I look at replacing the fan controller module as suggested in an earlier thread?

You need to give more information on "The Air Conditioning is not working".

Re: Aircon not working.
The fan is not operating, even when dialed up to maximum speed, which apparently overrides the fan operation module.
With the fan not operating, no AC is operating either, so no air is flowing from the vents...regardless of temp setting.

OK, so the climate control fan is not working and thus not blowing air, (hot or cold) into the cabin. As you are in California, no doubt you never need any heat !!

Sounds like the fan or its control is at fault. Is there a fuse you can check ?

It's the blower relay on top of the blower housing. You can access it by removing the glove box. Part# C2C39577

Did this solve the problem? I have the same problem. The blower does not work for AC or Heat in Auto or Manual mode. I checked all of the fuses, and they are working.

Is there a way to test if it is the relay before ordering the part? I'd like to verify that it is this part (C2C39577) before ordering a $200 part.

... and how do you get to the part C2C39577? Is it fairly straight-forward to remove the glove box?

Jaguar recommend that you run the CC with the air conditioning on all the time.

The system therefore cools the incoming air and then heats it if you are calling for heat.

I think the advantage is that misting inside the car is reduced because as you know air

conditioning dries the air.

Do you run the CC this way ?

If you do then I can imagine these symptoms being produced by a faulty blend door (there are 7!)
