When I converted I simply removed the relay and a 10 amp fuse as instructed somewhere in this forum, can't remember where. 05 VDP now has 118k miles on it and has no bushing issues or noises. Probably due to good enviroment. Car came from Georgia, then spent e few yrs in Montana now in Arizona. Don't know how much it was used in winter in Mt. as salt and deicer is used although sparingly, but there is no rust or enviromental damage.

118k is impressive with no bushing issues! I had the car on stands today and took a really good look at the suspension. At only 48k there are some bushings that are just gone (most notable are the rear lower control arms, lateral links, stabilizer links, and front tie rods/upper ball joints). Everything else looks serviceable but with the state of those I'm going to replace all arms/links/tie rods. The only thing I probably won't touch is the front lower ball joint, looks good and no play. Car has 48k on it and has lived in PA its entire life. Sparsely driven by the previous owner but I'm going to be putting lots of miles on it.

While I was under there I greased/lubed everything to see if I could rid myself of the creak/squeak temporarily and no luck. It got a bit quieter but still there and noticeable. I used a needle attachment on my grease gun to get into the boots (most were open anyway), so everything had plenty of grease. Wonder if its the dampers making the noise? Have read a few threads where it was and I'd hate to replace everything and not get rid of the noise. May replace everything and leave the air for now, but if there's still noise its getting converted.

Wish I knew someone that had a converted car so I could take a ride. I come from the x308 & GM world so as nice as the x350 rides to me (even with worn bushings), I feel like I might be OK with a coil conversion but would love to know for sure... There's actually an 04 XJR for sale locally with a conversion, but its priced way too high and I'd feel bad wasting someones time just going to take a test-drive in a car I have no plans on buying.
