Default Air Suspension Replacement

All. Just finished installation of Strutmaster coil over suspension conversion kit. Installation very straight forward and uneventful. Hardest part was removing the back seat to install the module.
Ride height appears to be lower by a little over an inch all around compared to full air height... an aesthetic improvement in my opinion.
Ride seems slightly stiffer.... again an improvement in my opinion.

I know the purists might object, but I grew tired of various parts conspiring to deny me of enjoying this classy Vanden Plas

Less than $1100 and done with suspension woes.....

+1. My 2004 just hit 70K miles. Anticipate that my Jag's suspension will go out one day, I bought entire set of used OEM air suspension for less than $300.00 shipped. Hopefully, I do not have to replace the air shock any time soon.

Good to hear you like the switch. I’m getting closer and closer to making the jump to coils. The purist in me screams no, but I agree, worry free enjoyment will most likely trump 15 year old manufacturer’s parts decisions.

It seems that only the front ones fail. Why not replace the fronts one at a time and keep all the benefits of air suspension?
Well made shocks (Bilstein, Sachs)can last over 150k mi in my experience.
It appears that it is the air spring that fails.

I forgot. What ARE the benefits of this air suspension?

Good question! A more controlled suspension re ride height and movement. Although for many, this translates into a 'floaty' ride without the apparent feedback of stiff springs and dampers. For me it is a serene ride. A latter day Citroen DS.

Quick question. I am going to do a air suspension replacement with the Arnott product. Is there any aftermarket for my used air shocks (or whatever you call them)? Three of the four are working really well. I'm changing because 1 seems to have a small leak that comes and goes, and I just don't want to deal with it anymore.

I was where you are 2 months ago, and after messing around with trying to fix things on the air side, I went with the Arnott coils conversion kit. Could not be happier. The car just seems more agile, but you do feel more of the road. You may like that, you may not.
