The alarm goes randomly off
Hello
I'm annoyed the alarm goes off randomly, but everything get closed properly and I see nothing at dash that something is open.could it be that the bonnet alarm switch is though defect?
Many thanks jean

There is a feature in one of the modules that has logged the LAST SECURITY ACTIVATION, (or some similar wording)
I don't know how SDD will list it or find it but WDS and IDS have this capability in the setup and configuration tab.

Just cut the wires off of that switch and tie them together. The switch fails and sends false "bonnet open" to the alarm system. I was fortunate enough for it to happen once while driving, saw the "Bonnet open" message in the display, when it obviously wasn't open.
Seriously though, our friend has had this intermittent problem since May still unfixed.
Bonnet Open gives me a Bonnet Open message. (unless he has a Hood)
Besides, how likely is that to go off intermittently when the car is doing nothing?
He's also had flat battery and other electric issues at some stage, so the state of his maintenance is uncertain.

Cut the wires and tie them together to permanently ground that signal. The car will be unable to detect that the bonnet has been opened, but the alarm will stop going off whenever it freels like it.
The switch gets corrosion, meaning it sometimes opens when it really isn't open, no connection to ground (earth for Brits,) falsely reporting the open bonnet to the car.

I think a good quality paperclip is rated at about 10amps and If that's no good...
Understand what you posted Jason, & usually do not short things out in this way!!!
It is a switch, and not a fuse after all, so no harm done if there is an electrical issue!!!
Switch is a little more expensive than a paper clip after all.
And i don't really require the switch to work
