My passenger side mirror on my 2005 Vanden Plas correctly dips when I put the car in reverse. Yet the mirror doesn't return to the same fixed position to which it is set when I put the car in drive. Over the course of several cycles of reverse-drive-reverse-drive, etc., the mirror tilt gradually gets higher, until I have to reset it manually or by pushing the memory button. Any ideas for a fix? Thanks.

 

My '04 XJR does the same thing . Other than bumping it back down occasionally, I'm not sure of a fix. I suspect they need to be disassembled and cleaned/ lubed.

 

My 04 does the same. The actual mirror motor (w/ memory function) needs to be swapped out. Actually if you have SDD you'll find a code...

I choose to live with it for now.
