Good Evening
I purchased logo lights, and the description indicated they were compatible with my 2017 XJ Jaguar and easy to install. The video indicated all I had to do was pop out the small door light and attached the logo light. However, the two plugs on the purchased logo lights cannot go into the existing door light after removing the old one, because its two two skinny wires are hanging down from the light/door panel. In other words, I have two plugs/wires on the logo lights and two stationary plugs/wires that are hanging once I detached the old light.
2017 or 2007? If 2017, it's the wrong forum. If 2007, you're in the right place but I don't have an answer, never having removed those lights to see what's in there. Maybe a picture of what you're trying to describe? Or a link to what you purchased?
I'm finding all kinds of links to lights that go under the door when you open it (called a puddle light in the electrical diagrams) but not much for the the mirror light (called an approach light in the electrical diagrams.)
I'll hazard a guess and say that if you squeeze the two retainer clips on the white plugs going into your current light assemblies, the plugs should come out easily.
Then you might find that the white plug actually contains two 'sockets' (the light fitting probably has pins embedded in it) which might allow you be able to gently insert the pins of your new light into those two sockets.
Depending on whether your new lights are LED or filament bulbs, you might find that the two wires might have to be inserted in a specific orientation for correct voltage polarity.
(LED lights will only work with correct voltage polarity, whereas filament bulbs don't care what way around they go).
Once you have that sorted, then you will want to secure the wires and pins into the plug so they can't fall out or have any exposed metal that could short to bodywork. So some insulation tape will probably cover that task for you.
I agree with the above, the white connector needs to be unplugged from the original light.
There may be an adapter cable needed, I'm not sure but one is shown here 2X New Logo LED Door Courtesy Laser Puddle Lights For Jaguar XK XJ X-Type S-Type | eBay
Polarity is uncertain (which wire is which), but since there's no color code just try either way.
Pity they don't fit X350/X358. Since I've got a leaper walking stick, leaper phone holder...but no leaper on the bonnet!
I've got this, which I s'pose I could hang off the mirror, y'know, to remind me I'm in a Jag.

Hi Chris,
They certainly do have them for the X350. I've got them on all four doors.
Just look on AliExpress under "LED Door Logo Light For Jaguar". They are about NZ$10 for a pair.
Squeeze those tabs that stick up. Those are retaining clips for the connector. Squeeze those and it should slide right out. You'll probably find that you can just stick the metal pins from your lights into the connector. If the light doesn't come on, swap them with each other, because one will be ground, the other will be 12 volts. With an ordinary bulb it doesn't matter, but with an LED the polarity is important.
There's some videos on Youtube of similar lights showing extraction of the film image in order to modify it.
Unfortunately this detracts from the time available to fix your Jag.
My projector lamps didn't fit . The body is about 1/8" longer than the original puddle lamps but otherwise the same.
Embrace Aliexpress, just not "A-YYUU Store".
I could project a Leaper on the neighbour's house. He drives a VW.

Edit: Forget that, I got them in eventually albeit tight. Since they looked identical to Pete M's post, I just tried harder.
