Hi all,

2006 xjr w/ premium sound. My left channel is practically non-existent for all devices (radio, CD, CDC, telephone, gps). Moving the balance all the way left, all I get is very quiet sound. Right side is great. All connections and wires that I can see are ok and there is no static.

So what do think, am I looking at a new amplifier?
Does anyone have a schematic or pinout of the amp? I could maybe check signal strength with a millivoltmeter.

If you have the "premium" lol Alpine system the connections to the speaker connections to the diaphram can be poor.

 

Maybe a coincidence but the car was in the body shop and the battery was disconnected for a few days. When I got the car back the CEL was on for a cold start code. I cleared it and it did not return. And... I now get a two tone chime every once in a while with no message center indication.

So is it possible that my audio issue could be related the battery disconnect and that a dealer system reset might help?

 

Any audio techs out there, I do get sound from the left side but it's not being amplified. Sure sounds sounds like an amp failure but Jaguar being what it is I want make sure nothing else like configuration, or some other component could cause this.

Any thoughts?
