Default Boot/trunk latch

Recently I posted about my latch which was misbehaving and said that I thought that the problem was due to a bad contact in the actuator.

I think that conclusion was correct but subsequently I exercised the latch as follows:

With the boot lid open close latch 'hook' until it clicks then close it further until it fires......................repeat.

Also put a little oil on the spring loaded spigot located on the body.

Since doing that it has never failed!
